Part 2: How to Maintain Your New Year’s Intentions of Staying Organized
Traditionally, it seems that every year we start off with the best of intentions and the greatest ambitions, only to find ourselves in the same cluttered mess by the end of the month. So now that we have set our intentions to become more organized this New Year, it’s important to be determined and disciplined enough to follow through and maintain these intentions throughout the year, and hopefully, for the distant future. In this blog post, you’ll find part 2 of the New Year's Organizing Series including tips and tricks on how to maintain your New Year's Intentions on Staying Organized.

The Ultimate Guide To Organizing This New Year - Part 1
Wow! It’s crazy to think we're already two weeks into 2023. I don't know about you all, but this year for me is all about new beginnings. Last month I graduated from Queen’s University after a 4.5-year Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree and for the first time in my whole entire life, I don't have any academic obligations, exams, or deadlines. So what a more perfect time than the first month of 2023 to start implementing healthy habits, routines and intentions. Around this time of year, many of us take the time to make “New Year's Resolutions” or as I like to call them, “New Year's Intentions”, to implement positive changes in our lives for the new year. One of the best “intentions” you can set for the new year is to be organized. I know it seems broad, but it not only is simple and allows for flexibility and adaptation, but it also encourages continuity and maintenance. From organizing various rooms and spaces in your home to organizing your goals, finances and schedules, this two-part blog series covers Organization-Specific New Years Intentions you can implement to be more organized in 2023, as well as a How-To Guide on Maintaining Your Organizational New Year's Intentions.

How To: Organize Your Home In Time For The Holidays
It’s hard to believe Christmas is just over 2 weeks away! I don't know about you all but I love Christmas. My family has a whole bunch of Christmas traditions we do together every year, from cutting down the Christmas tree in the backyard, to gingerbread house decorating contents between the cousins, to dressing all the family dogs in Santa and reindeer costumes. It’s also become a tradition in my family to “prepare the house” for the holidays. Unfortunately, I don’t mean putting up the lights and decorations, I mean decluttering and organizing the house to prepare space for the influx of gifts, people and parties. In this blog post, you'll find 5 quick tips on how to declutter your kid's toys before Christmas as well as an additional 5 kitchen hacks to prepare for holiday hosting success.

Winter Organizing Tips
As I look out the window, there’s no denying it any longer. The trees are bare, snowflakes are falling, and the sky has that greyish dreary hue. Winter is here. I know it doesn’t officially begin until late December. But here in Ontario, winter weather typically begins to sneak up right about now. And when winter weather strikes, it’s time to organize for winter! Personally, the first two places I think of when it comes to winter organizing are the entryway and the car. In this blog post, you'll find tips and tricks on how to organize your entryway for winter, as well as a winter emergency car kit checklist to ensure you're always prepared for the worst of the Canadian winters.

Ultimate Halloween Organization Guide
If you couldn't tell by the excessive amounts of pumpkins, ghosts and bats, Halloween is just around the corner. Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year because you can dress up as anything you want to be, and more importantly, you can eat as much candy as you want too. I do understand that there are people out there who would much rather shut off all their lights and hide in the basement on halloween night, however, if you love halloween like me, or celebrate it because of your kids, this blog post is for you! Here you will find tips on how to prepare for the halloween season, trick-or-treating organizing tips as well as post-trick-or-treating tips, to ensure you stay on top of the halloween candy chaos.

It’s not a secret, decluttering is hard, it can be emotionally draining, it sometimes brings up feelings of guilt or it can just feel completely overwhelming. Clutter can make us feel stressed, anxious, and depressed. Research from the United States in 2009, for instance, found the levels of the stress hormone cortisol were higher in mothers whose home environment was cluttered.
